Technical Support
The Australian Profibus International Competency Centre (PICC) can provide
design assistance, compatibility testing, commissioning and fault finding services.
The Centre is capable of providing on-site support during installation and
commissioning and is completely vendor independent. Qualified PICC engineers can
assist companies with their entire installation thereby shortening the project
cycle and saving time and money.
Incorrect cable installation may lead to several problems. PICC engineers are able
to provide segment-by-segment verification – as an installation occurs. This minimises
commissioning issues associated with the physical layer.
In addition to installation, the PICC can also assist with configuration,
verification and diagnosis.
Correct configuration of the instrumentation will minimise time loss during the
commissioning phase. Much of this can be ascertained during the design verification
stage.
Finally, site verification on completing the installation involves monitoring the
network during the commissioning phase and focusing on any spurious and periodic errors.
This ensures the entire plant meets the Profibus standards and will operate effectivelly.
The PICC’s automation centre contains a wide variety of control systems and instrumentation
for potential users and suppliers to become acquainted with the technology and use their
devices of choice in a friendly environment.
